Proper digestion…it all starts here.In order to receive the nutritional benefits from the foods we eat, it is critical that they are properly digested, absorbed and eliminated. Careful attention to proper nutrition will go to waste if the body is unable to process it. The major function of the digestive system is to break down and absorb nutrients and the active components in the digestive juices are primarily enzymes. Pancreatin 8X USP Pancreatin is composed of three different enzymes: amylase, lipase and protease. Pancreatin is used to help those wanting further digestive support. Amylases break down starches, lipases break down lipids, and proteases break down proteins.

Labeling the mg amount of pancreatin in a product only tells part of the story and can be misleading when the most important component is the activity of the enzymes. Ortho Digestzyme is formulated with a standardized 8x form of pancreatin providing high potency, high-activity enzymes for improved compliance.

Betaine HCL USP Betaine hydrochloride is an acidic form of betaine. It is used to aid digestion by bringing the stomach to a more acidic pH to aid in digestion.

Pepsin 1:3,000 Pepsin is a protease secreted in the stomach by the chief cells. Pepsin has the highest activity between the pH of 1.8 – 3.5.

Ox Bile Extract Bile is excreted by the liver and stored in the gallbladder. Bile mixes with chyme and aids in fat digestion.

Bromelain 2,400 GDU/g Papain 6,000 USP Units/mg Bromelain is an enzyme extracted from pineapple plants and papain is an enzyme derived from papaya. These two flavonoids aid in protein digestion.
